Recovery Star (4th Edition)
For people with mental health and wellbeing needs
Who is the Recovery Star (4th Edition) for?
The Recovery Star was developed to support individuals with a wide range of short and long term mental health conditions. The Star aims to help people in their recovery, where ‘recovery’ may mean living well with mental health issues, rather than having no symptoms.
The Recovery Star helps people and the services supporting them identify progress towards key outcomes like managing mental health, physical health, relationships and trust and hope, and give clarity on where to focus next.
- I work with people in secure settings, can I use Recovery Star?
If you work with people in secure settings you can use Recovery Star Secure. This Star has been developed especially for those who are in secure services and aims to help them to gain new skills, understanding and ways of responding to move on from their current setting and have more freedom, choice and control in their life.
Using the Outcomes Star approach
The Recovery Star (4th Edition) is designed to be used as part of the Outcomes Star approach. That’s why we provide essential training and ongoing support to all licenced practitioners, so you can embed the Outcomes Star approach in your practice.
How does the Recovery Star (4th Edition) work?
The Recovery Star covers ten key outcome areas to help people manage their mental health, and assesses their progress towards each following a five-stage Journey of Change.
You and the people you support will fill our the Star together, and use it to better identify where their strengths lie and where they might need more help, and to make plans for moving forward along the journey.
