My Mind Star
For supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing
Who is My Mind Star for?
My Mind Star has been developed for use with young people who are experiencing mental health challenges. The Star has been designed for use in early intervention services that aim to prevent the onset or development of mental illness. It may also be used to support young people who are experiencing poor mental health. This can include low mood, stress, anxiety, sleeplessness or self-harming, or who have a diagnosed mental health condition.
The Star helps them and the services supporting them identify progress towards key outcomes like feelings and emotions, healthy lifestyle, and school, training and work, and give clarity on where to focus next.

Using the Outcomes Star approach
My Mind Star is designed to be used as part of the Outcomes Star approach. That’s why we provide essential training and ongoing support to all licenced practitioners, so you can embed the Outcomes Star approach in your practice.
How does My Mind Star work?
My Mind Star covers seven key outcome areas the support young people manage their mental health, and assesses their progress towards each following a five-stage Journey of Change.
You and the young people you support will fill out the Star together, and use it to better identify where their strengths lie and where they might need more help. And to make plans for moving forward along the journey.
